Creating "Location Properties" for Different Location Layers
This article will explain how to create “location properties” for specific location tags. These “location properties” will allow users to identify certain information about the locations within an organization.
To be able to utilize location properties, you will first need to create and apply location tags to a location. You will then be able to fill out the fields created in this guide.
Instructions
From the home dashboard, navigate to the sidebar dropdown (three white bars) in the top left of the page and from this dropdown, select Locations
From the Locations page (table view), select the layer you would like to add “location properties” for.
For our example, we will be adding location properties to the building layer.
Navigate to the “profile tab” of this location, and select the cog icon in the top right of the “Properties” card.
From this building layer edit page, you can create a group to place these properties in.
For example, if you would like to create properties pertaining to building information, you can create a “Building Information” group
5. For building information, “property fields” can be created and filled out with information pertaining to the groups.
6. Fill out the name of the field you would like to fill out.
Select the group you would like the property to apply to.
Create the property name you would like to fill out (i.e: Building Point of Contact)
Create an optional description for the property
Select the kind of information that will be entered in the property
The options are: Dropdown, Checkbox, Toggle, Date, Text or Numeric
Select “Save” when all of the above information has been completed.
7. If more properties need to be created, repeat step 6. The image below shows what it will look like with a few properties options filled out.
You may edit the order these properties appear in by using the numbers on the left side of the properties box.
8. These properties will now be able to be filled out by navigating to a location node that is associated to that layer.
